DREAM Center

The DREAM Center is a vital resource on campus, providing a support network for undocumented students and students from mixed-status households. Through collaborations with both campus departments and external organizations, we provide essential services designed to help these students thrive, including educational programs, legal assistance, and spaces for community building.

The California State University (CSU) system is the top university system enrolling undocumented students, and CSUN stands out with one of the largest numbers of undocumented students in the CSU system. Each year, more undocumented students enroll in college, yet many do so without the protection of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which grants work authorization and protections from deportation. In California, there are 102,938 undocumented students in higher education, with 64,343 unable to benefit from DACA or traditional employment opportunities.

Undocumented Student Emergency Fund

Many undocumented students face financial hardships that threaten their ability to stay in school and meet their basic needs. The Undocumented Student Emergency Fund is designed to provide immediate relief for students in crisis, helping cover essential costs like living expenses, food and transportation.

Undocumented students are eligible only for state-based financial aid through the California Dream Act, which often doesn’t cover all their expenses, leaving them without support for student fees, housing and school supplies. Additionally, the lack of employment opportunities makes it difficult for students to afford groceries, gas and other basic needs.

Your donation to the Undocumented Student Emergency Fund can make a profound difference. By helping provide financial stability, you will enable students to focus on what matters most — pursuing their education and achieving their dreams. Your support will alleviate their stress and anxiety, empowering them to succeed at CSUN and beyond.

Donate to support the Undocumented Student Emergency Fund and ensure that undocumented students have the resources they need to thrive.
