Transitioning from high school to college can be challenging for many students, but for LGBTQIA+ students, the experience can be even more difficult. According to the Williams Institute 2022 Report, nearly one-third (32.6%) of LGBTQIA+ individuals faced bullying, harassment or assault in college, compared to just 18.9% of non-LGBTQIA+ students.
For more than a decade, the CSUN Pride Center has been an integral part of the campus community, advocating for the needs of LGBTQIA+ students. The Pride Center has provided a safe and affirming space where LGBTQIA+ students can gather, access resources and build supportive connections. Over the years, the center has continually adapted to meet the evolving needs of the community, offering a variety of programs and services that promote visibility, understanding and advocacy.
Donations to the CSUN Pride Center provide essential financial support that directly enhances the programs and services available to students. Contributions help fund leadership development opportunities, including attendance at national conferences, internships and fellowships. Your donation will also support programs that address the unique needs of LGBTQIA+ students, such as mentorship initiatives and scholarships for students facing financial hardship.
