NCOD: Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services

Established in 1964, CSUN's NCOD: Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services was the first postsecondary program in the nation to provide paid American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters for deaf and hard of hearing students. Since that time, the program has grown to be one of the largest of its type in the western United States.

Today, approximately 150 deaf and hard of hearing students attend CSUN each semester and register through the NCOD: Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services to receive services such as interpreting, speech-to-text transcription, note-taking, tutoring and academic advisement.

While communication access for students is funded by the state of California, many of NCOD's innovative programs and services rely on contributions from individuals and businesses.

Your financial contribution will help NCOD continue to provide the groundbreaking resources, engagement and support for CSUN’s deaf and hard of hearing students.
