Mathematics Mentorship Fund

The Mathematics Department Mentorship Program aims to expand the number of CSUN students pursuing advanced degrees and careers in the mathematical sciences. Many of our students possess exceptional mathematical talent that, with the right guidance and support—academic mentoring, encouragement, and financial resources—can flourish. Each year, we identify promising individuals and provide them with the mentoring, research opportunities, and preparation needed to enter top Ph.D. and M.S. programs, as well as industry jobs.

The Mathematics Mentorship Fund makes this possible. It supports student–faculty collaborations on cutting-edge research, with most of the funding directly enabling faculty to devote meaningful time to mentoring and working closely with students. The fund also provides stipends that reduce financial barriers and foster the development of critical skills for success across diverse career paths—whether in academia, industry, or education. Through sustained mentorship, students gain the analytical and problem-solving tools needed to thrive in a knowledge-driven world.

Your support of the Mathematics Mentorship Fund helps shape the next generation of mathematical scientists. Together, we can open doors of opportunity and empower students to reach their fullest potential.
