Dating/domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking, and other forms of discrimination and harassment based on a protected status can derail studies, create barriers to career goals, and cause ripple effects within the CSUN community. Our community and people impacted by harm deserve better.
The Outreach, Prevention & Education team within the Office of Equity and Compliance (OEC) believes that we can reduce harm, teach accountability, and cultivate a campus culture of care where all community members can thrive. Through our efforts, we aim to provide campus community members with the skills and knowledge necessary to create meaningful and respectful relationships. Together, we can engage in building inclusive and accessible communities where all students, faculty, and staff feel a sense of belonging.
Created in 2024, the Outreach, Prevention & Education team has partnered with Athletics, Fraternity and Sorority Life, the Pride Center, the Matador Involvement Center, the Parent Scholars Resource Center, Student Development and Transitional Programs to reach new students, Project DATE, Campus Care Advocates, and various departments and colleges throughout CSUN. To date, they’ve provided workshops for over 6,000 students, faculty, and staff. Today, you have the opportunity to further this impact by giving!
Through your generous support, OEC will:
- Increase workshop participation through relevant and exciting giveaways, interactive activities, and food;
- Develop a robust student ambassador program to build collective action on campus;
- Provide multiple prevention education workshop offerings for all populations in collaboration with on- and off-campus partners;
- Empower responsible employees, friends, and community members to support individuals experiencing harm with dignity and respect; and
- Proactively increase safety and reduce the impact of harm throughout the CSUN community!
Your gift to the Outreach, Prevention & Education team will have immediate and longer-term ripple effects for years to come on our campus, in our community, and in all the communities where Matadors live and work! Thank you for partnering with us through your giving! Every contribution counts.
