China Institute
Strengthening CSUN’s China Institute

Since its inception in 1982, the China Institute has transformed lives through research and cultural programs and played a major role in making CSUN’s exchange programs with China among the best in the nation. Its membership includes more than 200 hundred faculty, staff and members of the community who are committed to enhancing U.S.-China relations.

What We Do

  • Academic Programs: We support curriculum development, sponsor lectures and conferences, organize research projects, and offer faculty-led study tours to China.
  • Cultural Engagement: The Institute hosts exhibits, concerts, film screenings, and cultural workshops to bring Chinese traditions and contemporary arts to the CSUN campus and surrounding community.
  • Exchange and Collaboration: We help facilitate educational exchanges, host visiting scholars and delegations, and support CSUN students and faculty pursuing opportunities in China.
  • Community Outreach: Acting as a bridge between CSUN and local communities, we provide resources, promote collaboration, and serve as a liaison for individuals and groups seeking information or engagement with China.
