Disability Resources and Educational Services

Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES) plays an integral role in the university mission of teaching, scholarship and active learning by furthering the vision of an inclusive society that supports the attainment of academic, professional and personal goals for persons of all abilities. The department fulfills this mission through programs of student service, training and education.

The following are some of the accommodations for which students may be eligible:

  • Access to assistive technology
  • Adjustable classroom furniture (ergonomic chair and/or height adjustable table)
  • Alternate format (conversion of print materials into electronic text, Braille, large print, etc.)
  • Alternative testing
  • Disability-related counseling and advising
  • Registration assistance
  • Shared notes

Students registered with DRES may also be eligible to receive support services, such as specialized workshops, academic coaching, strengths assessment and career assistance.
