Mattys Closet

Confidence is essential when interviewing for a job, and feeling good about our appearance often boosts that confidence. Wearing a career-ready outfit can make all the difference in creating a strong first impression. However, for many students, expenses like tuition, rent, food, and transportation make purchasing quality interview attire difficult. Matty’s Closet empowers students to make a winning impression with the right attire

Matty’s Closet is an on-campus program of donated, new, and gently used work-ready clothing used for career-related functions such as interviewing, a new job, conferences, etc. The generosity of CSUN’s staff, faculty, employer partners and the community has helped the Career Center establish this necessary resource to serve students.

Students are provided a free complete career-ready outfit per semester setting them up for success and helping them look and feel their best. Join us in supporting and launching Matador’s toward their career goals through Matty’s Closet.

Student Testimonials

Jessica, Psychology, Class of 2026

"I really enjoyed how the stylist knew what clothing I felt most comfortable in, and was willing to work with me with items didn't work out. She was inviting and gave great advice on how to further tailor my clothes if needed. She also made sure to share resources in terms of how often I can return to the closet.  I did wear the clothes I received and got aced my interview. I start my new job this Friday!"
