The Dr. Boris Ricks Memorial Fund provides scholarships to California State University, Northridge (CSUN) students who demonstrate outstanding leadership potential in community activism. The fund was established to honor the legacy of Dr. Boris Ricks, whose leadership and dedication have left a lasting impact on countless CSUN students. The fund aims to cultivate and empower future leaders who promote the values he championed, by assisting them to achieve their academic and professional goals.
Dr. Ricks was an Associate Professor of Political Science at CSUN and a respected faculty member since 2008. He was also a tireless and dedicated mentor, extending his guidance to students within and beyond the Political Science Department. In addition, he was an active leader on campus, within the California State University system, and in the Los Angeles community.
By fostering future leaders, the fund aims to honor and preserve Dr. Ricks' enduring legacy of service, mentorship, and community engagement.
